In loving memory of Anthony Paley

Family, Friends and Dance

In family, friends and dance there is a common stride.                                               For it is through each one of these that the heart is opened wide.

In family there is connection, through blood and trait and name.                             Regardless of if we are near or far, that connection remains the same.

With friends there is connection, through shared memories and love                            Although the connection goes unseen, it can feel as if a gift from above.

In dance there is connection and like a tiny magic thread,                                           It allows a man and a woman to dance with words unsaid.

In family there is acceptance.  It is given if we're happy or sad.                                   It is present regardless of how much we judge ourselves to be good or bad.

In friendship there is acceptance and though it may ebb and flow,                              This acceptance will sustain us through the highs and through the lows.

In dance there is acceptance, like when she smiles at him and knows,                        That he is trying to dance the best he can while stepping on her toes.

In family, friends and dance we may sometimes come up short.                                     When trying to be all that we can be, from these three we can find support.

If you have family you are truly blessed, family and friends you have so much more           But if you have family, friends and dance you have been given the wings to soar.
